RE: Xscreensaver

Excellent, Jon.

Now, trying to do the rebuild from source gave me: Couldn't find X11
headers/libs. Try './configure --help'

What would I do to make a working compiler?

Grab the latest SRPM from ftp.falshope.com/pub/xscreensaver

su to root, issue:
rpm --rebuild xscreensaver<whatever_version_it_is>.src.rpm

it'll take some time to build, but it's worth it IMHO. SRPMS seem to work
better for me, plus you can optimize them....

when that's done, cd to /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/ and there should be
a regular rpm there. uniinstall all your other xscreensaver rpms and
install that one.

or, if that's too much work (or if you dont have a working compiler), grab
the regular binary rpm from falsehope and skip the rebuild. but removing
all the old and then installing the new should help...

otherwise, are you getting any error messages when you launch
xscreensaver? like on the VC from whence you launched X?
