I futzed with it some more and got it working. I think all the obvious
stuff was correct except that I didn't have "eth0" as the gateway device,
maybe having had that would have solved the issue "up front". But during
my futzing I booted to DOS and ran the diagnostic on the card and (on the
advice of the diag) changed the settings. What finally fixed the problem
was *removing* the 'options oi=0x300 irq=12" in conf.modules... I'm not
sure I understand that; is the module autosensing?
