This may not be the right place to ask and I may not be able to find what I
want, but it never hurts to ask, right...right?
Here's the situation. I'm looking to find a web-based calendar suitable
for group room scheduling. Ideally, it should include:
- A daily calendar with slots for times/group names for each room.
- A weekly summary calendar for each room that shows free/busy time for
each room.
- A weekly summary calendar for all rooms that shows free/busy time for all
rooms. Sort of a "calendar of calendars" if you will.
- A simple query function to look for dates, group names, etc.
- Add/update access via a web browser, probably some type of form entry.
- Viewable by a web browser.
I'm guessing this would probably be some type of Perl or other CGI script
for entry and on-demand creation of the schedule pages for viewing. If I
had the time & knew more about Perl, I might attempt such a thing myself,
but I lack both at present. There probably aren't enough rooms to warrant
an SQL database, a flat file or files would probably suffice. Currently I
have a set of static pages for each room & week and it works, but it's
difficult for more than 1 staff person to update simultaneously, which is
done directly via web-editing software.
The only other ready-made solutions I've been able to find run on -you
guessed it- NT and I don't really want to put up an NT server for 1 service.
Does such an animal exist? Any suggestions are most appreciated.
