I used to think I understood this but now...
If I type "env" at the prompt, I get a nice display of
my current environment settings. Problem is, in my path
there are several redundant/repeated entries. I have
checked my personal .bash_profile and /etc/profile. In
neither can I see a number of the PATH entries, particularly
those that are duplicated. What files do I need to
open/edit to rearrange the order in PATH AND to remove
the duplicate entries?
Related question. I have egcs-1.1.2 and pgcc-1.1.3 installed.
Presently, egcs is the default when I use gcc, etc. How
do I change the default compiler set to be pgcc?
