I have a question about upgrading libc and glibc. Currently, I have
libc-5.3.12-27 and glibc-2.0.7-13. So, I could get a way with only
upgrading libc, correct?
As well, when I do an "ls -l /lib/libc.so.*", I only get this:
[root HAL /tmp]# ls -l /lib/libc.so.*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Jan 11 17:44 /lib/libc.so.6 ->
libc-2.0.7.so*
You can see that I'm missing the libc5 *.so file, so I did this:
[root HAL /tmp]# rpm -ql libc | grep libc.so
/usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libc.so.5.3.12
and "/usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib" is an entry in my /etc/ls.so.conf. So, is
this good enough or should I copy the *.so.* files that libc provided over
to /lib ? Also, I only have libc-5.3.12-27 installed and I looked for
5.4.46, but had no luck, can someone please point me to the correct URL?

Can someone please tell me what rpm Loadlin is part of and where I can get
it from?

Can someone please tell me what rpms Ncpfs, NFS and pcmcia-cs are part of
and where I can get it from?

If I don't use pppd at all, do I still need to install ppp in order for
2.2.1 to compile properly?

Yikes, that sounds scary. I have util-linux-2.7-18, would that be good
enough then? Thanks in advance.
Best,
Steve
