Re: UPS Support

I'm setting up an new 5.1 server. Is there a uninterruptable power
supply (UPS) out there that is supported on Linux? If so can someone
point me to the web site or company phone number? Finally, has anyone
used it and how well does it work/easy is it to install?

Thanks

Jeff,

I am using and APC ups www.apcc.com. This is my so\econd usp that i have
bought from Amercan Power Conversion and am really happy with them. The
apcupsd works really well with the up and will shut the box down really
nice. Plus I have been told that the gui that comes with the ups for
sco will work under linux but haven't tried it. I bought my SmartUPS
420 for $240 us dallors around three months ago. with my 17" monitor
running and my 300a celeron box i get around 10mins of up time with full
power blackout. With the monitor off you can get much more haven't
tried to see what the total up time would be with monitor off though.
