SAMBA & Netmasks

Any comments?

machine 1 (new server): 192.168.68.1
machine 2 (old server): 192.168.68.2
machine 3 (winblows): 192.168.68.3

SAMBA running on machines 1 & 2.

My initial thought was to set al machines' netmask
to 255.255.255.0.

Interestingly enough, nothing can see anything else
with this mask.  Changed masks to 255.255.0.0
& everything seems to be working fine.

It seems to me that the 1st mask is the more correct
one, but why doesn't anything work with it?

Oh yes, #1 has non default gate (will be an IP_Masq box)
#2 & #3 have #1 as default gate - does this have
anything to do with the problem?
