Applying Alan Cox's Kernel patches??

Can anyone tell me how to apply kernel patches from Alan Cox?
Do I just apply the latest patch, or do I have
to apply each one in sequence. ac1, ac2, .. acn?

I tried this latter approach, but it complains that
(the second) patch has already been applied.., so
I stopped it right there.
