Here's my PII:
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `|'
[summer possum data]$ env | grep 86
MACHTYPE=i386-redhat-linux-gnu
HOSTTYPE=i386
and my genuine pentium:
[summer possum data]$ rsh emu env | grep 86
MACHTYPE=i686-pc-linux-gnu
HOSTTYPE=i686
[summer possum data]$
Don't believe bash.
ps They're both RH Linux.
