the problem here is that the bootup process installs any sound modules
*before* mounting the local filesystem, so naturally it is unable to
find the file. the best solution that i can think of is to edit
"/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit" and move the section where it installs sound
modules to just after filesystems are mounted.

and i'll send you a copy of mine.
