I had problems with my usrb 56K. Fisrt thing have you tried to use minicom to
see if you can dial out on the modem.
One big thing i found out was the I had my modem set as cua3 when i need it to
be set for cua2 because. with the pnp
it wants the icq set as 4 and cua3 is an irc of 3. If you can access the modem
from minicom you should beable to use the modem. Just have to figure out what
the settings are plus you can disable you pnp in you bios. Hope this helps
