Hi all,
I just bought RH Linux Power tools and installed a security
package called 'sentry' via rpm. I have two questions and hope
to get a few comments from some experts out there:
1) How does the sentry get executed? Currently the executable
is stting at /usr/abacus/sentry ... kind of a strange place.
The README.install says use the command: sentry -tcp
But should it be a daemon process and started from somewhere
like /etc/rc.d/init.d ?
2) I have the following two files set (before installing sentry):
/etc/hosts.deny
ALL : ALL
/etc/hosts.allow
in.telnetd : 123.456.789.
in.ftpd : 123.456.789.
Do I still need to install the sentry package since I am already
blocking just about everything (except limited ftp and telnet)?
Thanks for your time!
Philip
