The latest press release from Intell is that the CPU-ID feature will be
disabled by default and has to be enabled by the user, and only at boot
time.


*** It was not a bug it was a feature. Some consumer organisation squeezed
the balls of Intel hence the change Tony is speaking about. However,
anything that can be enabled/disabled by the user can also by somebody
else whithout the users knowledge. Between Netscape's cookies & the
browsers that can send info about its user and this new Pentium III spy I
wonder if Orwell just had a lucky guess or a glass ball...
