ppp help

I am stuck I have configured a cirrux 120 with 48mb of ram using two hd's
and have been able to install redhat 5.2
I can log onto my isp and have modem setup on com3 irq5 which is odd but
have a serial mouse which is taking com 1 and com2 at irq 3 is nonresponsive
I am able to log on to the isp and when I run ifconfig I get the right
information if I am running x but if I leave x the modem disconnects. I have
the setup running auto start on boot but that fails everytime modem calls
and does not stay on line and ifconfig without x shows no
ppp interface. I do see the ppp interface load on boot. I
have setup the damn thing the same as I did in 5.0 . Any ideas?
