win98 preinstall interfere w/linux install?

I'm going to buy another computer, probably used, but see that many of them come
preinstalled with windows98.  I read somewhere that the FAT and/or cluster size is
different for win98, and didn't want that to be a problem when I install Redhat5.0
for a dual boot.  Any experience on that?
