promise ultra dma pci card.

Hi,

I just purchased a promise ultra dma pci card and a seagate 3.2 G ultra dma hard drive 
to hook up to it.

The install goes fine. The card and the drive(hde) are recognized.
When I try to install lilo though during the installation it says there were errors made.

It will not boot then from system commander.

Any ideas why the installation can go fine with the exception of lilo cannot be installed?
