I tried bash 2 almost two years ago, when I was using Slackware.  The
only thing I noticed was that it broke my init scripts.

Is bash 2 supposed to have any features or advantages over the current
bash?  I don't remember anymore.  At that time upgrading was probably
just a kneejerk reaction to a bigger version number :)
