RE: X on a gateway vx700 diamondtron



I've not either of the hardware which u are using, but from my
experience in configuring my system I can tell U this.

Assuming U can go to the terminal prompt, edit the XF86Config file.
Enter the Horizontal and vertical refresh rates for ur monitor which U
can get from the monitor manual. It's better U start with a resolution
of 1024x768

Also u have to know the chipset and clock speed of ur video accel card
and install the appropriate X Server.
