Since writing my initial message, I have attempted to modify the 5.2
mkbootdisk script to make a boot disk for 5.0 by reading the input
files off the 5.0 root (which I have mounted as /root50). This has
the same problem as all my other 5.0 boot disks, that I get a kernel
panic when it tries to mount the root partition.
