Some how i message was misunderstood i would like this to run as default
for all user accounts and i have tried putting the line in the Xclients
file and then sourced the file and it did not work. does anyone know
where i could put this line to make it output tail -f /var/log/messages
> /dev/console which loads when i start xwindows. I boot right into xwindows and use mwm (lessstif wm) If i type the command as root in a xterm it starts the out put to the xconsole window but would like this to be done at boot up for all accounts. Plus i would like to sentry to load at boot up also i made a script so all i have to type is Sentry as root and it loads but would like this to also load at boot up. Thanks you for all your help
"I am looking for a way to display the out put of tail -f
/var/log/messages to my xconsole window while logged into xwindows. I
would like to have this work for all accounts rather than having to log
su to root in a xterm and then run
tail -f /var/log/messages. If any one can help me out thanks for the
help. I am using redhat 5.2 and running mwm."
