I figured out how to do almost everything in your instructions. The
only thing I didn't understand how to do is upgrade to pcmcia-cs 3.09.
Since it didn't seem that crucial I skipped it. The problem I am having
doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the pcmcia.
Here is the error message I get on boot with the new kernel. This is
showing up part way through boot.
Partition check:
hda1 hda2 < hda5 hda6 hda7 hda8 >
request_module[block-major-8]: Root fs not mounted
VFS: Cannot open root device 08:03
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:03
If it makes a difference I did get the colorful little punguin in the
upper right hand corner :)
Does anyone know what might have happend. The only thing I can think of
is that the instruction on Steve's page is for a single boot system and
I am dual booting win98 on the first partition and Linux on the second
partition.
I don't really know what to do now.
Thanks,
Aaron
