Dialing a PPP server with pppd

Hi, 
        I have dial a PPP server with success using the GUI wich came 
with the 5.2 release (Networking configuration), but I want to do it 
manualy
using the scripts ppp-on, ppp-dial and ppp-off. I'm using ppp support as 
a 
loadable module (I'm using the precompiled Kernel of RedHat 5.2).
        When I execute ppp-on, kerneld deamon don't load it 
automaticaly.
        I have tried to load it manualy with insmod but it display 
errors.
        What can I do?
