thanks to a few kind folks who told me what to read under the HOWTO's for DHCP
Read the DHCP mini howto, it comes on the CD.... it's also at
www.linux-howto.com
To answer your question, yes that would work fine for your laptop, I do the
same thing right now. At work the address is 10.0.0.x and at home 199.1.1.x
so having dhcp has eased my portability headaches.... I haven't tried or
thought of another method, so for now this is the best method for me.
I wish Microsoft would allow one to have multiple network configurations
selected at log on time... oh well... like I said, I wish..
