Problem with Linux After Defrag

I have win98 on my first partition and Linux on the second using lilo to
boot my desired operating system. Well recently I defraged win98 and now
Linux is having all kinds of problems on boot up. I get a lot of error
messages during boot. What did I do to Linux? Has anyone experienced
anything similer to this? I am sort of new to Linux still and could
really use some help with this one.
