R: PS/2 mouse problems

You probably aren't interested in this, but:

Here was my experience with a Microsoft PS/2 mouse with Linux. The
cursor could not be stabilized, it was nervous, all over the place.

I posted to the redhat-list about it (over a year ago) and got lots of
responses from users with the same problem. We exchanged information on
our systems and problems. The problem was never solved. I changed back
to an old (very old) Logitech serial mouse which is fine (RHL 4.2).

I use a Logitech PS/2 mouse with RHL 5.1 and it is fine.
