E-Mail Error

I originally had procmail-3.11-1.i386.rpm, then I upgraded to
procmail-3.13.1-1.i386.rpm. Both procmail programs are showing the
same results with kernel 2.0.36 on Red Hat 5.2 and
sendmail-8.8.7-20.i386.rpm. Therefore, the error I've intercepted is
not the result of procmail.

Certain incoming messages don't show up in the mail viewer (Netscape
Messenger 4.5). I've had problems with incoming processed messages
containing a ^M at the end of the lines occasionally. Consequently,
the mail viewer isn't able to read the messages. I've removed the ^M
from problem messages in the past, thereby enabling me to view the
messages, but I don't have the culprit causing the problems fixed.

Another individual suspected the follow:

I've never heard of the above happening, though I have heard
of people accidentally saving their rcfiles with CRLF
instead of just LF as the line terminator and thereby
     completely breaking them.

Hmm, if the message itself is gaining CRs then I would
probably check to make sure the MTA is configured
correctly. If the MTA is sendmail then the prog and local
mailer should either _not_ have E= directives, or they
     should be E=\n

Are there any solutions?

P.'S. Detailed Documentation(s) and Sample(s) are more than welcome.
