How to make 1 machine many IP's

Got one quick question. 

Inside rc.local, what command sets do I include besides ifconfig such as 

ifconfig eth0 ###.###.###.##1
ifconfig eth0 ###.###.###.##2
ifconfig eth0 ###.###.###.##3
ifconfig eth0 ###.###.###.##4

to allow one machine to be there for every ip that I ifconfig. 

I can't recall how to set this up. Something is missing. Any help??
