Module directories

I'm planning to recompile my kernel and was wondering if I could have two
/lib/module directories, one per version.  The kernel will have the same version
number, 2.0.34, but a different "release" number, i.e. "-6".    The reason for
this is I'd like to be able to load either version of the kernel without using a
disk or having to move around directories before hand.

Example
/lib/modules/2.0.34                <= Old
/lib/modules/2.0.34-6            <= New
