Yes! Over and above the PCI/winmodem problems, I just plain prefer
externals.

Haven't gotten my 6.0 yet :(, not familiar with pnpisa.conf, but this
was unnecessary with earlier versions. There was an RH X app called
modemtool to config modem, but I think all this does is create link
/dev/modem -> /dev/cuaX.
