I don't know, I'm starting to feel really stupid.
There was another thing I once read that said:
in /etc/rc.d/init.d/networking:
insert one line after "start)"
case "$1" in
start)
echo 7 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr
I did it coz it said so.
I'll be honest. I'm very very busy, so I didn't take too much time out to
read the kernel source (which supposedly explained this). It may be for 5.2
only, I don't know.
What I do know is that it now works.
I think it's great you question why we do things, and wish I could too, but
I don't have the luxury of time.
