Your monitor should have it's own settings for sleep.
"xset s off" should kill screen blanking on your monitor.
You probably don't have apmd running either. Turn it on and your BIOS
settings
to get everything to sleep.

You seem to understand something about Poower Management and apmd, so
let me ask you this question?
Is there a way for CRON to "blast through" apmd? My system comes uses
the standard config where a bunch of cronjobs like tempwatch(?) are
supposed to run at midnight. But apmd kicks in, puts the system to
sleep until I wake up in the morning,
touch the computer and have to wait for about ten minutes while the
postponed cron jobs complete. Besides getting rid of apmd, or getting
rid of the cron jobs, is there a way around this annoyance?
