According to the docs, the RH5x rpms (old style) are relocatable to /opt/kde
if you use the rpm command line. Check the readme files on any of the ftp
mirrors for details. BTW, I did an install and at first pass, you'd be hard
pressed to see the differences between .1 & .2. Supposedly mostly bugfixes
and new icons.

Anyone else mad/stubborn enough to want KDE in /opt/kde
rather than in the
/usr tree and found that installing the new RPMs for 1.1.2
with the
--relocate option COMPLETELY screws it up???? KDE can't find
ANYTHING when
you do that. I've reverted to the 1.1.1pre RPMs which do
work with
relocation (and, yes, I HAVE got KDEDIR set correctly)
Any clues?
