Writing to remote filesystems

I recently upgraded two machines to RH6.0.  I find that
I no longer can write from one machine to the other using

  (a) Anonymous FTP to the incoming directory.
  (b) File systems mounted by NFS, even though they are 
      exported (rw).

Obviously, some extra security precautions have been
set compared to 5.2.  Where are they, and how do I
override them?
