Actually the Xpert Work works quite nicely with Linux. It's a different
chipset and the drivers are readily available. The ATI 128 chipset
however is VERY different. I tried all the ATI drivers, I tried VGA16,
SVGA, MONO. Nothing. In fact most of the time the system simply
crashed and locked up tight. Power off and fsck time ;D
Rage Pro is also a different chipset. I've gone online to the aTi
website and checked their cards out.
In detail my problem is that ANY driver selected (and I tried them all)
simply black screens the computer and hard locks it. I've tried the
SUSE drivers also but I'm getting all sorts of error messages. I know
that if you purchased an aTi Rage Fury card that you too will go nuts.
I've just purchased a Voodoo3 card and will be installing the drivers
this evening. Already downloaded them from the Internet so I'm pretty
sure I'm in good shape. Running RH 5.2 and so I also downloaded the RH
6.0 glibc just in case I need them. Read somewhere that it might be
necessary to install them.
Thx and I really appreciate the help all!

"Windows for Dummies" isn't a book title, it's Microsoft corporate
