sound vs. dma problem

Hi folks,

I couldn't find anything related in the archives, so here we go:
For a while now, I had quite an annoying problem with my sound card:
Every now and then, a message pops up in the console saying that sound
failed due to no free dma available (and of course, sound wouldn't work
anymore). This will go on for a while, and then, magically, sound starts
working again. I had a look at /proc/dmas, but can't see any clashes.
My system is a K6-2/300 w/ 128MB and an OPTi 931 sound card, running
RHL 5.2 with all updates (except the latest XFree update). I also have a
3c503 NIC, an NCR810 SCSI adapter and an ATI Xpert work graphics card in
there, though the sound card is the only trouble maker.

I'd be glad if anybody could shed some light on this and point me in the
right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Thomas
