Re: Non-network install

You could install lilo to the partition instead of the master boot record. Then download GaG ( a nice easy boot loader) from freshmeat.net and use that to boot the partitions.

I have an issue which I hope this group can help me with.

I am working with a high school in the area who wants to build a Beowulf
cluster, the technical issues of which I am more than ready to handle.
However, the cluster is to be built on 9 donated P90 machines, 8 of
which have 16 MB RAM, 540 MB disk space and NO CD-ROM. The ninth has 32
MB memory, a CD-ROM and a full RH6.0 install (I will prune it later).

Anyway, my question is, what is the best way to install LINUX on these 8
remaining machines? I could clone drives, but I am left with the problem
of getting lilo installed. As these computers will be linux only - do I
need lilo?

I also do not think the school has an accessible link to the internet -
hence some sort of network install is out of the question. I hope this
is clear and I truly welcome any help suggestions from this group.
