Hi all,
I was given a lot of suggestions in an eraly thread about how to get
xcdroast to work..
basically I recompiled the kernel adding the following as suggested by
others:
not as modules, but included in the kernel...
generic cd-rom support,
scsi support
scsi cd-rom support
but when I fire up xcdroast, I get a dialog box before xcdroast saying :
" No Generic-SCSI-Support has been detected. Without it no SCSI-devices
can
be detected or used by X-CD-Roast. Please load the sg-module (e.g.
"insmod sg") or recompile your kernel with Generic-SCSI-support."
I then click "Continue Anyway"
Then I get xcdroast.conf not found! Please enter setup... OK
In setup when I click on the "CD-Writer-Device:" drop down list, nothing
happens..
I also notice that the SCSI/IDE - Info only shows my cd-writer and cdrom
in the IDE-devices section only if I have placed cd's in these drives...
My configuration is as follows:
/dev/hda - 3 gig hard drive
/dev/hdb - 4 gig hard drive
/dev/hdc - Phillips CDD3610 CD-R/RW
/dev/hdd - CD-ROM CDU701
what am I doing wrong?
also when in the setup screen, the CD-Reader screen shows the
data-read-device as
the cd-writer ... PHILIPS CDD3610 CD-R/RW
I am really puzzled and baffled here.. please help...
thanks,
Ahbaid.
