Hi all,
firstly thanks to all those who assisted me in getting my ide based system
configured
by suggesting what to compile directly into the kernel and lines to add to
lilo.
The solution that worked for me was as kindly suggested by Steve Borho.
Thanks Steve,
I had to compile the following into my kernel:
scsi-generic, scsi-cdrom, ide-scsi-emulation,
the bit I was missing was to turn off ide-cdrom. (Thanks again Steve)
The adding of append="hdc=ide-scsi" did not seem to help...
I also had the opportunity to recompile the kernel for the first time.. a bit
daunting at first, since I had never done this on Linux, but it's made quite
easy thanks to you kind folks who are always willing to help...
One final question, is there documentation out there for X-CD-Roast? A URL
would be nice please...
thanks again for all your help, I feel really good that I have gotten lot's of
things to work with your assistance,
please keep up the good work folks...
and in case I forgot...
thanks,
Ahbaid.
