gnome ..

hi..
This is maybe the wrong place to ask..but....well..i´m gonna ask.
The first time i used gnome...i really liked everything but there was one
thing that was bothering me.
That was that i could not switch windows with the buttons on the panel. I
had to right click on the button, then click on show, and then click the
button.
Then the window would come in foreground.

A few days ago ...i downloaded the latest version of Gnome...can't remember
what version it was, but then i could switch  windows by just clicking on
the button on the panel. But when i restarted it became just the way it was
before. Very very weird.

I was just wondering if any of u guys and girls would happen to know what
this could be.
