I have done numerous FTP and NFS installs over a 10 Mbps
ethernet LAN. FTP installs seem a bit quicker than NFS.
Time for a full install is about 45 min to 1 hour depending
on total LAN traffic.
I downloaded most of RHL 6.0 from the net over our T1 connection
in several different sessions so I don't know how long that took.
I then put it on both an NFS server and FTP server--2 different
low end HPUX boxes. In my lab I was installing on 4-8 machines
at a time from NFS server. A custom install of about 400 MB
was running about 10 minutes to copy software with remaining
install tasks of about 5 minutes or so.
