Supporting Class 1 Faxes

I've been using a modem to provide fax services on my Linux box
(based on Red Hat 6.0). I'm using mgetty+sendfax, but the
documentation says that they do not support Class 1 fax and are
not likely to. efax supports Class 1 but I could not get it to work
and it does not seem as professional or robust as mgetty+sendfax.
I thought about trying hylafax, but it always seemed to be an
industrial-strength solution (this is for my HOME!).
Is there a decent way of supporting a class 1 fax-modem? If not,
what do people recommend for an internal (ISA) inexpensive class
2 fax-modem?
