Specialx cards

I need some help pointing me to how to setup a Specialx card & ports
in Linux. In the kernel Documentation dir, there's a specialx.txt, but 
mostly concerned with the kind I don't have. (It's an ISA card, circa
'89 at work. Where I'm not now- think it ends in SI.) 

Serial HOWTO doesn't seem helpful either.

Anybody done it? Pointers? Steps? Whatever?

(Only done it on SCO before.)
