OK -- there's no "bzImage" target in the top level Makefile. There is in
the `/usr/src/linux-2.2.5/arch/i386/boot' directory, but doing a "cd" to
there and running "make bzImage" doesn't work, since something seems to be
assuming other paths.
# make bzImage
make: *** No rule to make target `/include/linux/config.h', needed by
`bbootsect.s'. Stop.
I looked at the Kernel HOWTO and the Modules mini-HOWTO and the kernel
building sectioin of the Installation Guide, but can't quite figure out how
this is supposed to be done.
Can anyone either describe the process or point me to some reference in the
distribution or online that I've missed? "grep"ing the HOWTOs for bzImage
wasn't productive.
What's the SIMPLEST way to add NTFS support to the distributed 6.0
package?
Having built the ntfs module, can I use it with the kernel that came
with 6.0 or do the bootable kernel image and the modules need to share
symbols and be installed together? I haven't really internalize the
"modules" concept.
How do I duplicate the distributed kernel?
If I manage to create bzImage, how does the kernel installation vary
from that described in the Installation Guide?
All suggestions appreciated.
