I meant "you can usually download and customize your INSTALLATION", of
course.  And that said, you're going to have a much easier time if you use
a distro with package management.

But the thing I cannot believe I missed is a chance to plug LPI.  They are
doing certification exams and Faber Fedor and others when through a lot of
trouble to enumerate the ways in which "popular" distros (RH, Caldera, PHT,
SuSE, Debian) differ.  There is a link to this "Distributions Difference"
