shadow suite / linuxconf

Hi all,
I've been using the old shadow suite on a RH4.2 box and have recently upgraded to
5.2. While I was moving all my scripts that I use to manage user accounts I
remembered that I didn't use the rehat adduser/deluser that came with 4.2 but
instead I was using the old shadow suite and the adduser shell scripts from 4.0.
The reason for this was that the shadow suite had a passwd command that allowed
for an optional argument ( -l ) for "lock" which would lock a users passwd
somehow so they were unable to login. Otherwise, the locked account functioned
normally and could be unlocked from the command line as well so it was easy to
make lockuser and unlockuser scripts that did the appropriate things on all the
machines on the network that needed to know about the status of a users account.
What I need to know is if there is a way to lock a user account using the
linuxconf scripts included with 5.2 and where I can find detailed documentation
on the non-gui, command line version of linuxconf.

thanks
-lca
