Domain move from ISP to in-house, sendmail/dns problems



Fellow Linux'rs:

This question is about domain hosting, DNS, sendmail, linuxconf, and
(surprise) Linux.

I'm taking dns services from an ISP-controlled domain to an in-house Linux
box which has a static IP and DSL.  I'm not sure if I have set up DNS
correctly (please read the attached named.conf), but it seems to resolve
names OK for everyone on the internal (10.0.0.x) network.  Another wrinkle
is I only have 1 ip, so my isp is setting up the secondary name server.

I cannot get sendmail to run correctly.  It will only transfer mail on the
local machine, not to the real internet.  After setting up sendmail in
linuxconf (attached is sendmail.cf, sendmail.mc) it gives me the following
error:

Can't compute the domain name of this server
It wont accept email correctly.
Please enter a fully qualified domain name in the
"Basic host information" screen.

The daemon runs, but no e-mail goes in or out (except local e-mail that
doesn't require any transport).  Internic should be transferring control of
the domain VSN (very soon now: probably today).  So I am worried.

netconf shows all the (I think) correct settings...
