To bad, I was hoping you had a work-around. You can thank Ed Kubitias who explained it to me when I didn't have a clue :) I suppose that in the e-commerce context that SSL is often used (i.e., only for the "cash register") you could set up multiple port-based secure servers--they're always going to come to the SSL host from a link that the customer controls, right? Though some clients behind a firewall might have trouble with non-standard ports...
