Hello.
When I try to install RedHat 6.1 (InfoMagic distribution) on a 486DX2-66,
regardless of whether I start the installation by booting a floppy or running
autoboot.bat, I get the following message when selecting my CDROM type:
/tmp/cdu31a.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
The CDROM drive is, indeed, a Sony CDU31A-GD that is attached to a sound card.
In addition, during boot up, I see the message:
ide2: ports already in use, skipping probe
Based upon information from win95, I have also tried setting the base address
for ide2 as 0x300 and using an IRQ of 11. When I do that, I finally get the
message "Initializing CDROM," but nothing further happens - the machine just
gets lost in space and I have to reboot and start over.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on the right combination of settings that
would get this thing to work?
Thanks!
