Be sure to reply to that address.
First, thank you for everyone who sent me suggestions regarding 'multiple IDE cards'.
I've installed RedHat 6.1 as root raid1 on two hard disks (hda and hdc).
Each has separate /boot </boot2> partition and separate <swap> partitions, the rest of the hard
disks act as root raid device.
This way any changes to the system and data files are being mirrored.
The question: how to make bootable the second drive (hdc) in case the first drive (hda) fails
and I want to reboot the system from the second drive?
After installation I copied /boot to /boot2, this way they are identical.
How can I make the second drive bootable (from the /boot2 partition) and preferably making it
able to recognize if it is booting up 'alone' <with the faulty hda> or as a "master" raid device
<with a new blank replacement hard disk, with proper partitions, ready to be remirrored>?
Thank you.
