Releasing ramdisk memory

Subject: Releasing ramdisk memory

I unzipped a disk image into a ramdisk to work on it.  Now that I don't
need it I realise I don't know how to release the memory used.  Can't
find any reference to this anywhere.  Can anyone advise?
